			<title>Helping Keep Polk County Warm</title>

			<description>&lt;p&gt;I would like to thank everyone who has donated Coats, Kerosene, Firewood and Money to the needy during the cold winter we are experiencing.&amp;nbsp; Phone calls have also been coming into the Sheriff's Office and the Communications Center on how to help aid this project.&amp;nbsp; If you would like to make a donation please send the check to the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 40 Ward Street Columbus, N.C.&amp;nbsp; Make sure that your check designates which purchase such as Fuel or Clothing you would like.&amp;nbsp; Make sure when you mail the check to the Sheriff's Office it is sent to the attention of Kim Pack or Donald Hill.&amp;nbsp; Thank you once again for providing to the citizens of Polk County who really need warmth this time of year.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

			<title>Education in Schools</title>

			<description>&lt;p&gt;The Polk County Sheriff's Office is starting a new iniative with the youth and children of Polk County.&amp;nbsp; This iniative will be called LEARN.&amp;nbsp; The first stage of the program will begin with officers going to schools one day a month to spend time with students inside the classroom.&amp;nbsp; This program will start in January of 2010.&lt;/p&gt;
